Tutor Required - Prescot (Year 6, ASD, 10 Hours per Week)

We are currently seeking an experienced tutor to support a Year 6 pupil in the Prescot area who has been out of education for an extended period.

This is a one to one, in-person role supporting a learner with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working below age-related expectations. The successful tutor will play a key role in re-engaging the student with education through a structured, patient, and supportive approach.

Role Details

• Location: Prescot (L34)
• Provision: One to one in-person tuition
• Hours: 10 hours per week
• 5 hours English
• 5 hours Maths
• Schedule: Flexible daytime availability
• Start Date: Immediate

About the Student

• Year 6 pupil
• Out of education for approximately 2 years
• Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Working below age-related expectations
• Requires a calm, consistent, and structured learning environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised English and Maths sessions
• Carry out baseline assessments and plan accordingly
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Requirements

• Experience working with students with ASD or additional needs
• Background in primary education or SEN support
• Ability to differentiate for lower-level learners
• Patient, flexible, and engaging approach
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
