ASD Support Tutor
Tutor Required - Prescot (Year 6, ASD, 10 Hours per Week)
We are currently seeking an experienced tutor to support a Year 6 pupil in the Prescot area who has been out of education for an extended period.
This is a one to one, in-person role supporting a learner with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working below age-related expectations. The successful tutor will play a key role in re-engaging the student with education through a structured, patient, and supportive approach.
Role Details
- Location: Prescot (L34)
- Provision: One to one in-person tuition
- Hours: 10 hours per week
- 5 hours English
- 5 hours Maths
- Schedule: Flexible daytime availability
- Start Date: Immediate
About the Student
- Year 6 pupil
- Out of education for approximately 2 years
- Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Working below age-related expectations
- Requires a calm, consistent, and structured learning environment
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised English and Maths sessions
- Carry out baseline assessments and plan accordingly
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
Requirements
- Experience working with students with ASD or additional needs
- Background in primary education or SEN support
- Ability to differentiate for lower-level learners
- Patient, flexible, and engaging approach
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
