Warehouse General Manager | Suffolk | Retail / 3PL



We are seeking an experienced and General Manager to lead operations at a key site supporting a national retail network. The site plays a critical role in delivering a variety of goods to stores and online customers across the UK.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments and can balance operational excellence with a people-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all distribution centre operations including inbound, inventory, order fulfilment, and returns.

• Lead a team of warehouse operatives, team leaders, and supervisors, ensuring high levels of engagement, safety, and performance.

• Manage seasonal peaks across spring, summer, and holiday trading periods.

• Maintain accurate stock control over a wide SKU range

• Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment for both retail replenishment and direct-to-consumer orders.

• Deliver on SLAs, safety, and compliance expectations, especially for perishable and regulated goods.

• Continuously improve processes related to layout, picking efficiency, and warehouse tech.

• Drive key metrics around productivity, cost-efficiency, stock accuracy, and customer service.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, buying, and transport partners.

• Champion sustainability and automation initiatives across the site.

What We''re Looking For:

• Experience in senior warehouse or DC management, ideally in retail.

• Strong team leadership and performance management in high-throughput environments.

• Deep understanding of WMS, stock control, HSE, and fulfilment systems.

• Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets.

• A proactive, flexible approach to handling seasonal demand and operational challenges.

• Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies (desirable)
