Job Summary:The Civils Ganger plays a crucial role in managing and leading a small team of operatives on the Southern Water sewerage projects. The role involves hands-on sewer repairs, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The Civils Ganger will be responsible for the day-to-day organization of tasks related to sewerage system maintenance, repairs, and installations, ensuring compliance with Southern Water''s standards and regulations, whilst complying with Big Change systems. Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of operatives to perform sewerage-related civil works. Allocate daily tasks to team members based on project requirements and skill levels. Provide on-site guidance and instruction to ensure tasks are carried out correctly and safely.Work Planning and Execution: Assist the Civils Supervisor in planning and organizing work schedules. Ensure that all work is performed according to the project plan and specifications. Coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of sewerage systems, including pipe laying, manhole installation, and trenching.Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on-site, particularly in relation to confined spaces, trenching, and working with heavy machinery.
