Responsibilities and duties of the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer roleReporting to the Engineering and Design Director you will:Lead mechanical design and engineering efforts across RIBA Stages 2-4, and provide technical oversight through project delivery phases (RIBA 5-7).Design and integrate low-carbon mechanical systems such as heat pumps, HVAC, BMS, and district heating solutions.Ensure regulatory and standards compliance, including CIBSE, PAS 2035, MCS, and UK Building Regulations.Lead BIM and CAD coordination to ensure effective integration with multidisciplinary teams.Develop and refine energy performance modelling tools for mechanical systems analysis and optimisation.Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary design integration, ensuring design continuity across mechanical, electrical, and energy systems.Mentor and develop a high-performing team of mechanical design engineers, encouraging continuous professional growth.Oversee funding application support (e.g. PSDS, GHNF, HNES), including technical input and complia
