What You Will Do
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will lead product development and certification activities for high-aesthetic, customer-facing interior products. You''''ll work closely with Program Management, customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure timely, high-quality design solutions that meet specifications, certification requirements, and customer expectations.Providing bespoke product designs that are reliable, high-quality, and production ready.Leading design and certification activities for passenger cabin components.Creating 2D and 3D CAD designs (SolidWorks), managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and PDM systems.Preparing test solutions and supporting qualification testing documentation.Designing across multiple disciplines (moulding, sheet metal, machining, cables, PCB assemblies, etc.).Supporting 3D printing, prototyping, and hands-on build activities.Applying knowledge of manufacturing and finishing techniques to optimise designs.Revising drawings and documentation based on peer, customer, and certification authority feedback.Providing progress updates, highlighting risks, and escalating issues as needed.Reviewing internal and external documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.Attending internal/external meetings and occasional offsite travel as required.
What You Must Have
To succeed in this role, you''''ll bring both technical expertise and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.Degree, HNC, or HND in a suitable engineering subject.Demonstrated design experience in a regulated engineering environment (aerospace, automotive, marine, or similar).High-level proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).Strong understanding of an engineering office environment.Ability to work independently with limited information, taking ownership to progress design and certification activities.Track record of delivering high-quality designs under tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills with confidence to engage across all levels of the business.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience We Value
Basic electronics understanding.An understanding of aircraft manufacturers\'' qualification standards and related standards, e.g., D6-36440, RTCA/DO-160, ABD0100.1.2, etc. Or experience within a Part-21J organisation.
