History Teacher Location: Durham Contract: Full-time Key Stages: KS3-KS4 Start Date: January 2026An Outstanding secondary school in Durham is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and committed History Teacher to join their exceptional teaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of local, national, and global history.Role Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum. Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering topics such as medieval history, the early modern period, modern world history, and thematic studies. Create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that motivates students to develop a passion for historical enquiry. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional support needs. Monitor, assess, and provide meaningful feedback to support pupil progress and attainment. Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared. Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and the ongoing improvement of the Humanities department. Support extracurricular and enrichment opportunities such as history clubs, educational trips, or cultural visits where possible.Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
