With seasonal menus, a buzzing garden with seasonal popups, weekly changing specials, collaborations with local suppliers, and a strong events programme, were not just a pub, were a hub for outstanding hospitality.We are looking for an Assistant General Manager with strong restaurant leadership experience in high-volume, full-service operations to help us take The Talbot to the next level.The Role

As Assistant General Manager , youll be the right hand to our General Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering smooth, exceptional restaurant service. Youll lead from the floor, ensuring every service feels warm, professional, and perfectly paced.Your role will focus on:Running service lead restaurant services with pace and personality.

Supporting the General Manager in driving sales, standards, and strategy.

Acting as a hands-on leader, touching every table, motivating the team, and ensuring guest experience comes first.

Overseeing reservations, floor plans, and guest flow to maximise covers without compromising service.

Building a strong, confident team with consistent training, coaching, and accountability.

Supporting with compliance, financials, rotas, and stock when required.

This is a people-facing, restaurant-driven role, perfect for someone who thrives when the room is buzzing and has the skillset to keep both team and guests engaged.

About You

Were looking for someone with:Proven experience in a full-service restaurant.

The confidence to lead the floor during busy shifts.

A natural ability to inspire, coach, and build strong front-of-house teams.

Strong guest-first instincts you notice the details, spot the gaps, and act quickly.

Organisational skill for rotas, reservations, and service planning.

Ambition youre hungry to grow, develop, and one day step into a General Manager role.
