Education Welfare Officer

Description We are currently recruiting an experienced Education Welfare Officer, operating as part of an integrated Education Welfare team, working in close collaboration with Schools, educational settings, and other agencies to deliver the Local Authority s statutory responsibilities in promoting and enforcing regular school attendance and child protection/safeguarding protocols. Responsibility To provide expert, customer-focused advice, guidance, and support on matters regarding child employment, child entertainment licences and Chaperone referrals. Ensure proper procedures are followed, ensuring the safeguarding of children s welfare remains paramount. Qualification Essential GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics. Level 4 standard of education. Qualification in child/education would be desirable. Customer care qualification/training would be desirable Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage. Successful candidates will have: The ability to converse at ease, politely, and courteously with customers and provide accurate advice in spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role. Knowledge of educational legislation relevant to attendance, pupils out of school, exclusions of pupils and child protection.
