We are recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to work within a specialist PRU setting in the Cheshamandnbsp;area, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time position supporting students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

You will be working closely with pupils aged 11andndash;16, helping them develop social skills, emotional regulation, and a positive attitude to learning.

Your Role Will Include:

• Building strong relationships with pupils based on consistency, trust, and respect
• Providing in-class and out-of-class support to help manage behaviour and engagement
• Supporting pupils in regulating emotions using de-escalation and calming techniques
• Working closely with the SENCo, Behaviour Lead, and external agencies
• Contributing to behaviour plans and supporting positive change
• Delivering small group and 1:1 mentoring sessions

Staff are committed to offering therapeutic support, academic progression, and life skills to prepare students for reintegration or next steps in their education.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or with SEMH/behavioural needs
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
• A trauma-informed, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Team player with commitment to inclusion
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
