Our Client, in the Oil and Gas industry, are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a 12 months contract in Barrow in FurnessPAYE onlyMonday to Friday, 40 hours per weekJob PurposeAs a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on subsea connectors, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance and high-reliable technical solutions for extreme and harsh environments. This role demands a deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and materials science to ensure reliability, safety, and innovation in subsea applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge connector solutions for offshore energy and subsea sectors. With increased seniority and experience, it is expected to take on more responsibilities, deepen technical expertise, and contribute to mentoring the wider engineering team.Key Responsibilities• Technical Responsibilities• Design and develop subsea (Low and High Voltage) electrical and optical connectors, pressure housings, and sealing systems using advanced CAD tools• Promote standardisation within and across product lines• Ensure consistency and alignment across and within product lines• Sustain high quality for our products• Drive design decisions optimizing both product performance and cost and balance innovation with cost efficiency• Perform and understand the fundamentals for mechanical, thermal, and pressure simulations using FEA tools to validate designs for high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT)
