private service for children

and young people (CAMHS), as well as

autism assessments

for both adults and children. This is a self-employed role.Located in the heart of Birmingham city centre, Priory Wellbeing Centre provides easy access to expert mental health support. We offer outpatient treatments alongside group programmes designed to address specific challenges.What you''ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing. Using proven therapies, we aim to help individuals move forward confidently and build healthier futures. As a CAMHS Visiting Consultant, you will play a key role in patient recovery by assisting qualified staff with assessments and care plans, and undertaking routine tasks to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment.Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic planning.Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).Supervising referrals and admissions, including preadmission assessments with team members.Providing psychiatric insights to the multidisciplinary team for assessment, formulation, and treatment of adults.Participating in management and clinical governance meetings, contributing to service development.Additional information can be found in the attached job description.What you''ll bring to the role

Resilience and empathy are essential, as the role can be challenging and rewarding. The post involves clinical responsibility, acting as Responsible Clinician, overseeing referrals and admissions, and providing psychiatric input on assessment and treatment. Candidates should hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry with inpatient experience supporting individuals with significant mental health issues.
