GSL Education are looking for a confident and caring SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive school in Durrington this September. This full-time, long-term role involves working closely with pupils with a range of learning disabilities, often requiring support with behaviour management and emotional regulation.

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key part in helping students feel safe, understood, and engaged in their learning. You’ll be working both 1:1 and in small groups, offering guidance, encouragement, and tailored support throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent support for pupils with learning disabilities and behavioural challenges.
• Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel secure and supported.
•  Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils stay focused and regulated.
• Assist with learning tasks, communication, and social development.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure individual needs are met.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, especially those with learning difficulties and behavioural needs.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm, compassionate way.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability.
• A CV covering the last 10 years (with explanations for any gaps).
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
