OverviewPaediatrics and Neonates Clinical Fellow (Registrar) post
0.6 WTE. Based at Newham University Hospital. The successful candidate will work in the Women and Children’s division at NUH, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
Ward rounds and provide cover to ambulatory unit; participate in outpatient clinics and AandE; provide cover to labour ward and postnatal ward, all with consultant supervision on a consultant-of-the-week system.
On-call: full shift system, 7-person rota, providing cover to NICU, delivery suite, postnatal ward, paediatric ward and AandE; there is a separate Registrar rota for Paediatric and Neonatal at all levels including Consultants, Registrar and SHOs.
Audit and research: participate fully in the departmental audit programme, aid in developing clinical service guidelines, and support SHOs in these activities; facilitate audits and research.

About the department and requirementsBased at Newham University Hospital, providing acute general paediatrics and neonatal services to a diverse, fast-growing population. The Level II Neonatal unit cares for babies born at more than 27 weeks and collaborates with the tertiary unit at the Royal London Hospital.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration and MRCPCH or equivalent. You should have appropriate training and experience in general paediatrics and neonatology.
