Assistant Manager (Functional Skills)
The Role Based on-site at HMP Onley, As a Functional Skills Assistant Manager it will be your responsibility for leading and developing a team approach to the delivery of a high quality service to learners. You will support the Education Manager with effective management of the functional skills curriculum, ensuring needs of learners and employers are met. You will lead on quality assurance and improvement, developing and encouraging an innovative and problem-solving approach to the work of the tutors in order to raise standards and meet challenging targets in line with performance indicators. What we are looking for: Level 5 or above Teaching Qualification. Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance or be willing to work towards. Evidence of continuous professional development together with the ability to develop and manage an achievement-focused team. Persuasive and supportive leadership and staff management skills. The ability to identify and implement continuous improvements to the curriculum in line with the needs and demands of learners and employers. An innovative approach and proactive style together with highly developed communication skills and the natural ability to influence others. Clear understanding of the OFSTED framework (EIF) with the ability to meet all standards. Significant teaching experience. Successful experience of managing curriculum development and change, quality systems, processes and the performance of teaching staff in ways which have improved
