Student Support Worker

Five Education is seeking support workers to work in schools in Taunton and surrounding areas to support students who have a range of special needs including down syndrome, autism, ADHD, social emotional mental health (SEMH), learning difficulties and more. We work with mainstream and special schools with students who are from nursery up to secondary age. The role will be working 1:1 with a student throughout the week. You will provide tailored support to a student with specific educational needs, fostering their academic and personal development. Experience is not necessary, but the successful candidate will be compassionate, resilient and comfortable in handling challenging behaviour. This role would ideally suit psychology graduates wanting to learn more about cognitive and behavioral issues or those who have a background in support worker/care assistant. The work won''t be anything too academic, but primarily focusing on developing their social and regulating emotion skills. You may also need to support them throughout playtime and lunchtime to ensure they are safe. The hours are 8:30-15:30 during term time, full-time is preferred but part-time roles (minimum of 3 days per week) may be considered too. Please note, the roles start ASAP until July 22nd and again from September onwards.
