Job Description – HGV Driver Class 2

Job Title:

• HGV Class 2 Driver (Based from Basildon location)

Responsible to:

• Logistics Manager & Road Freight Manager

• Managing Director and Directors 

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving the company’s commercial vehicles

Main Duties:

• Driving commercial vehicles for purpose of collecting and delivering freight
• Groupage / Multi Drop / Pickup
• Some Tail lift deliveries and collections as well as some manual handling when needed (kerbside)
• Ensuring that all loads are checked for discrepancies (damage/shortages etc) and are safely loaded and secured on the vehicle. Must be reported immediately if different.
• Daily maintenance checks on the vehicle you have been assigned to
• Ensuring that all records pertaining to the role (Tacho’s, Time sheets, Trip sheets, Receipts etc) are kept in a orderly fashion & handed in in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Geographical coverage is all areas of London (accessible for HGVs) and the Southeast.
• Daily Delivery & Collection to E16 client

Special working conditions:

• Our core Warehouse hours are 06.00 – 20.00pm.

• This role will require drivers to have a flexible approach to start time depending on daily workload.
• Weekly hours within the parameters of the legal driving hours & working time directive
• This role requires each driver to engage in physical activity including using the vehicle equipment, strapping, movement in/around the vehicle, tail lift, use of side curtains.

Required Experience

• Min 2 years HGV Class 2 driving.  Valid CPC, Tacho etc are essential as well as a clean driving licence
• Excellent Attention to Detail is essential

• Due to the nature of the job, a good level of physical fitness is required
