Business Intelligence Report Developer role at Severn Trent. This role is integral to our operations, offering a unique opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction through impactful data insights. We’re looking for someone who is technically minded with an eagerness to learn and develop knowledge and experience across Microsoft Power BI reporting tools.As the Business Intelligence Developer, you will own the full end-to-end report development process. You will work with Reporting Partners and Business Requesters, taking their requirements and generating a detailed specification to progress the report builds. You will provide reporting solutions to business users such as operations and finance teams, aligning to a specific business area and building close working relations to understand their reporting needs.The reports you produce should help build best practice and guide internal stakeholders to ensure the right data and reporting is provided in time to deliver an effective and efficient service.You will design, build, and test self-serve outputs to ensure reports work and that timescales and delivery plans are agreed within the team. You will create technical specifications and undertake functional unit testing to ensure accuracy and fit for purpose. You should understand report requirements and designs, build and test to required standards, and use your knowledge to ensure solutions are built to last with intuitive user interfaces. You’ll also investigate and fix incidents on self-serve reports.Responsibilities
Own the full end-to-end report development process from requirements to delivery.Collaborate with Reporting Partners and Business Requesters to generate detailed specifications.Design, build, test, and deploy Power BI reports and self-serve dashboards.Provide reporting solutions to operations and finance teams and develop intuitive, self-serve reports.Document technical specifications and perform functional unit testing; ensure accuracy and fit for purpose.Investigate and resolve incidents on self-serve reports and maintain data quality.What You’ll Bring To The Role
Technically minded with knowledge and experience in SQL and DAX.Essential experience building reports in Power BI.Good communicator with strong planning and organisational skills.Willingness to learn and develop across BI tools in a collaborative environment.What’s In It For You
