Band 5, Full-time, permanentMedical Physics Clinical Technologist - DEXAWe are looking to recruit a Clinical Technologist or Radiographer (AfC Band 5) to join our DEXA team based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.Responsibilities

The team provides bone densitometry (DEXA) scanning for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and monitoring of treatment. DEXA scans are performed on -7000 patients/year, with patients referred from primary and secondary care.As part of this team, you will perform scans and analyse bone densitometry (DEXA) studies for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and the monitoring of treatment.The service houses 3 Hologic scanners, the successful candidate will be given full training on how to use this equipment.Qualifications

You will have a degree in a relevant subject and be willing to undertake a formal training programme to be able to perform DEXA scanning.You will have experience of working with patients, preferably within an imaging context.Additional information

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a \"regulated role\", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
