Teaching Assistant

• Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31)
• Pay: -500 - -525 per week
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Long-Term (Temp-to-Perm)

Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive junior school in Northfield to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support within a Year 4 class. This role has a strong focus on behaviour support, working closely with pupils who require additional support to regulate emotions and engage positively with learning.

This is a long-term opportunity for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

• Support teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
• Deliver small group interventions to support learning and progress
• Build positive relationships to support pupils'' social and emotional development

• Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a primary or junior school
• Skills:
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Experience supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs
  • Confidence delivering small group interventions
  • Understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• Desirable:
  • Training in behaviour management approaches (e.g. Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or similar)
