Head of Health, Safety and Environment - Civil Engineering and Infrastructure
We are working with a well established, privately owned civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for direct delivery across major infrastructure frameworks. The business has a long term pipeline of secured work, particularly within water and utilities, offering genuine stability and the opportunity to influence HSE performance at scale. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of HSE to lead health, safety and environmental performance across a key regional business unit.
The Role
This is a senior leadership position focused on driving HSE strategy, improving performance and embedding a strong safety culture across multiple live projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a regional HSE team
- Driving delivery of corporate HSE strategy and regional plans
- Ensuring full compliance with HSE legislation and internal systems
- Acting as the senior HSE representative with clients
- Leading incident investigations and ensuring robust root cause analysis
- Monitoring HSE performance, trends and reporting
- Supporting continuous improvement and cultural change across the business
About You
- Proven HSE leadership experience within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong track record managing teams and influencing at senior level
- NEBOSH Diploma essential
- Experience operating across frameworks or major projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
