We are seeking an experienced and passionate

Head Chef

to lead the kitchen of our vibrant and dynamic

gastro pub . Youll be responsible for delivering high-quality, seasonal dishes that blend traditional pub fare with modern culinary flair. As Head Chef, you''ll oversee kitchen operations, manage food costs, maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance, and inspire your team to create exceptional dining experiences.Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operation

Develop and execute seasonal menus that reflect local ingredients and gastro pub standards

Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency

Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, Health and Safety)

Monitor inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs

Recruit, train, and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff

Work closely with front-of-house and management teams to ensure customer satisfaction

Manage food margins and work within budget targets

Ensure clear communication and a positive kitchen culture

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar gastro pub or restaurant environment

Excellent culinary skills with a strong understanding of British and European cuisine

Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills

Knowledge of kitchen financials, food cost control, and supplier negotiation

Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds)

Up-to-date Food Safety and Hygiene Certifications

Passionate about food, innovation, and delivering an outstanding guest experience

Desirable:

Experience with menu engineering and dish costings

Knowledge of dietary trends and allergen management

First Aid and Health and Safety certifications
