Job detailsWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in the nonprofit industry. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, streamlining processes, and managing client relationships. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.

Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, and report variances.

Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.

Streamline accounting processes and operations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their financial queries are addressed promptly and accurately.

Mentor and develop a team of senior accountants, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and building an effective team dynamic.

Evaluate and make improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Work closely with team members to assist with financial reporting, year-end audits, and budget and forecast preparation.

Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master''s degree or professional accounting accreditation such as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management or a similar role.

Proven experience in streamlining processes and managing clients in a professional setting.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, laws, and regulatory codes.

Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
