Autistic SEN Learning Support Assistant andndash; Radlett

The Role:
Supply Desk is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive special school in Radlett, currently recruiting for a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role starts in September and offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive team making a real impact on childrenandrsquo;s lives.
What Youandrsquo;ll Be Doing:
- Providing 1:1 and group support to autistic pupils across Key Stages.
- Helping students engage with tailored learning activities and access the curriculum.
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs and Individual Learning Plans.
- Supporting emotional regulation and managing sensory needs in the classroom.
- Adapting learning materials and strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Using visual aids and communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, visual timetables).
- Promoting independence and life skills in and outside of lessons.
- Liaising regularly with families and professionals to support progress.
- Participating in staff training and contributing to a strong, inclusive school culture.
About You:
Weandrsquo;re looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting neurodivergent children.
- Aware of how autism can affect learning, behaviour, and communication.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to student needs.
- A confident communicator with staff, pupils, and families alike.
- Experienced working with SEN, particularly Autism (preferred but not essential).
- Willing to undertake relevant training (Autism Awareness, Safeguarding, etc.).
- DBS-checked or willing to apply for one (required).
