Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to support a variety of primary and secondary schools in Towcester and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant working through Tradewind Recruitment, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of welcoming and inclusive schools. You will support students with a variety of special educational needs, which may include Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Your role will involve working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff to provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping students access the curriculum and develop their confidence, independence, and social skills. You will play a key role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis

• Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

• Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement in lessons

• Encouraging social development and emotional wellbeing

• Adapting learning resources to meet individual needs

• Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to support student progress

What we are looking for:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools or other settings)

• A patient, empathetic and proactive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

• Flexibility to work across different schools when required
