This organisation represents over a million members and operates with an annual income exceeding £200 million. It has a complex financial structure with multiple entities and funds, making this a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced finance professional.The JobAs Head of Financial Accounting, you will take ownership of the organisation''s financial accounting function. This is a newly created role due to the need for extra headcount and organisational support from the finance team. This organisation does have some historical issues with their financial accounting, meaning there is a backlog and a need to improve processes. There is also a current reliance on Excel, which they would like to change with plans in place for a new system implementation. The complexity of the organisation and the situation mean the incoming person will have the opportunity to have a big impact. Key responsibilities include:Preparing statutory accounts and regulatory returns for the organisation and its subsidiaries.Managing group consolidation schedules and reporting.Acting as the main liaison with external auditors and regulators.Leading a project to insource financial accounting functions currently outsourced.Driving improvements in financial accounting policies and processes.Advising senior leadership on technical accounting matters.P
