We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and the maintenance of our internal environment.

The role will report into the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance and will work in partnership with the Transactions and Financial Planning and Analysis teams. We are seeking someone with strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a passion for the sports industry. We are particularly looking for someone hands on, who will thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly End Close activitiesResponsible for month end balance sheet journals across all legal entitiesEnsure accrued and deferred revenue are allocated correctly on the balance sheet, investigate aged accrued incomeReview aging of recoverable expense "work in progress" account to ensure current and billed/written off on a timely basisReview other balance sheet accounts (e.g. VAT, AR, AP and tax balances) to ensure correctly classified on a monthly basisReview and reconcile the intercompany matrixReconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are balanced and accurateOwnership and maintenance of the Group Consolidation workbooksKey point of contact for our external auditors, during the audit process to provide necessary documentation and supportResponsible for the annual compliance calendar to ensure timely submissions for all legal entitiesIn conjunction with the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance maintain and develop strong internal controls and processesSupport the wider team with treasury related activities, cashflow forecasting and covenant reportingPotential to assist with tax preparation (depending on experience)Ad-hoc financial projects as needed

Key Requirements:

Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)IFRS backgroundStrong knowledge of accounting principles and regulationsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work well in a team and collaborate with colleaguesExperience in a global business is preferredExperience in the sports industry is a plus
