We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high-profile public sector programme based in Central London. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension, offering the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of major property and asset strategies across a complex estate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and deputise for the Lead Mechanical Engineer on the delivery of mechanical, public health, and specialist building services projects

   

• Develop lifecycle strategies and ensure long-term asset performance and value

   

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical standards and design guides

   

• Undertake feasibility studies and manage improvement projects up to several £million

   

• Provide expert technical input to live programmes and project teams

   

• Initiate innovation, sustainability improvements, and research into emerging technologies

   

• Ensure best practice, compliance, and lifecycle value-for-money across all works

   

Requirements:

• Strong experience in mechanical building services engineering within complex estates

   

• Solid understanding of asset lifecycle planning and value engineering

   

• Proven ability to produce technical briefs, reports, and feasibility assessments

   

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

   

• Ideally from a mechanical design engineering background

   

• Must be eligible to obtain or already hold CTS (Counter Terrorist Check) security clearance

• This role is based full-time on site in Central London

   

• The contract falls inside IR35
