Washington, NE38 7LWUp to £30,000 DOEFull-time PermanentAbout the RoleWe are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance and engineering team. This hands-on role involves building, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment in both workshop and field environments.Key ResponsibilitiesWorkshop and Field MaintenanceBuild, strip down, inspect, and service mechanical/hydraulic equipment (e.g. paint pumps, blast pots, ventilation systems, high-pressure washers)Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs to rental fleet equipmentComplete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and post-hire assessmentsSite Services SupportSupport installation, mobilisation, and demobilisation of equipment on client sitesAttend breakdowns and perform minor on-site repairsComply with all client site-specific safety protocolsDocumentation and ComplianceMaintain accurate service records and inspection logsEnsure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, ATEX, and internal quality proceduresTeam CollaborationWork closely with Rental, Stores, and Engineering teams to coordinate equipment availabilityReport recurring faults or opportunities for equipment/process improvementSupport mentoring of junior staff and apprentices when neededRequirementsNVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a mechanical fitter or maintenance engineerExperience working on heavy/industrial equipmentCompetence with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsAbility to read mechanical drawings and manualsB
