This role is with a client who provide a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Their diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes. Responsibilities and duties Working within a civils team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians the role is varied and includes, but is not limited to: Design development: Support the design of civil engineering schemes from initial concept to detailed design, including design of roads, drainage, earthworks, and other infrastructure elements. Ensure designs are technically sound, cost effective and meet client requirements. Technical analysis: Undertake detailed design, prepare calculations and reports, and conduct assessments in accordance with relevant codes and standards. Use appropriate software to create design models, drawings and documentation. Project management support: Assist in managing the technical aspects of a project, including liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders, and ensuring designs are delivered on time and within budget. Quality assurance: Produce clear, well-presented designs, drawings, reports, specifications and other engineering documentation and proactively ensure they meet internal quality standards and industry regulations/standards.
