Noble Recruiting are currently recruiting a confident and experienced Yard / Operations Manager to join our friendly and proactive Client on the outskirts of Chelmsford, Essex.

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Hours: 8am – 5pm - weekdays

Your responsibilities include:

• Oversee the end-to-end flow of a busy technical yard, ensuring high throughput without compromising quality or safety.
• Lead the expert loading, securing, and lashing of Out of Gauge cargo, utilising specialist equipment and custom casing solutions.
• Full P&L responsibility for yard operations, including budget management, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Mentor and manage a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Act as the primary lead for site safety, ensuring strict adherence to Working at Height regulations and heavy lifting protocols.
• Implement and maintain robust systems to track inventory, throughput, and operational KPIs.

You will need:

• Confident and outgoing individual.
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential from a groupage/freight background.
• Ability to identify, assess and mitigate operational and safety risk to prevent incidents and minimise disruptions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate in a clear, concise, and logical manner both verbally and written.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-pressure environment where technical accuracy is non-negotiable.
• Good time management skills.
• Driver with own transport is essential due to the location of the external site.
• UK resident and the right to work in the UK.
