ResponsibilitiesFinance team sits at the heart of the business working with business stakeholders to deliver the annual plans, mitigate risk and exploit opportunities. Using a balance of commercial acumen, analytics and management accounting the team work to assess new business opportunities, analyse key decisions, report on performance to the business stakeholders and complete the regular month end reporting and forecasting.
The main challenges of the business are to develop marketing, sales, retention, and pricing capabilities to maintain and grow the current portfolio of customers by developing new products and offerings that create clear space between AL and their competitors.
Qualifications
You will be responsible for putting together the monthly management accounts including variance analysis against budget and forecasts
Key month-end tasks are revenue recognition, OPEX accrual/prepayments, fixed assets, balance sheet recs, group month-end reports
National statistics returns
Responsible for the reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and having explanations for any queries raised in monthly review meetings
Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets
Assisting manager for the preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax packs
Responsible for key weekly and monthly head office reporting
Preparation and support in the audit of financial statements (Internal and external)
Covering other accountants in his/her absence
Other ad-hoc duties
Essential: Educated to degree level in a Finance or Business-related subject
Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Understanding of financial reporting, full PandL and Balance Sheet preparation
Self-Starter with a strong work ethic
Intermediate/advanced excel skills
Ability to work under pressure, taking ownership of work and meeting strict deadlines
