We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide full-time, 1:1 support for a 4-year-old child in Reception who has autism and significant challenges with expressive/receptive language. The role involves supporting learning through play, promoting communication and social development, and helping the child engage positively within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support a young learner who benefits most from self-directed play and gentle encouragement, while gradually developing tolerance for structured activities.

Managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
Assisting with personal care needs, including toileting.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
Keeping accurate records of progress and adapting support strategies where needed.
What We''re Looking For
Experienced Learning Support Assistant, ideally with knowledge of EYFS and SEN.
Understanding of ASD and how to support children working below age-related expectations.
Skills in behaviour management and fostering emotional resilience.
Emotional Literacy Support (ELSA) experience or training is highly desirable.
A patient, creative, and flexible approach, with a focus on building trust and engagement.
Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Why This Role Matters
For many children with additional needs, early intervention is crucial. By supporting this child''s individual learning journey, you will play a vital role in helping them develop the foundations for communication, learning, and social interaction.
If you are passionate about supporting children with SEN and want a role where you can see the impact of your work every day, we would love to hear from you.
