Interim Building Surveyor
Location: South West
Duration: Permanent
Rate: -45,718 + Excellent Benefits inc. Local Government Pension & 28 Days A/L (Plus bank holidays)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - site, office, and home working

Spencer Clarke Group are exclusively supporting a Local Authority in the South West who require an experienced Building Surveyor to join their Housing Property Services team.

You will be responsible for commissioning and delivering housing capital improvement projects, managing contractors through contract administration, and overseeing works from feasibility through to handover. The role will involve working across a range of sites on modernisation and improvement schemes including listed buildings and general needs housing stock.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies, specifications, technical designs, and project briefs
  
• Administer contracts and manage project budgets
  
• Carry out building condition surveys and inspections
  
• Ensure compliance with planning, CDM 2015, and building regulations
  
• Engage with tenants and leaseholders throughout project delivery
  
• Work collaboratively across design, procurement, and construction phases
  

• Proven track record of delivering capital and planned maintenance projects
  
• Strong contract administration and project management experience
  
• HNC in Building Studies (or equivalent)
  
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and construction health and safety legislation
  
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle
