Head of Sales - Beer

OverviewJack and VMA GROUP are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven
Head of Sales
to join a leading name in the alcohol industry, representing an iconic
beer brand
across both
On-Trade (pubs, bars, restaurants)
and
Off-Trade (retailers, supermarkets, wholesalers)
channels. This is a pivotal role, blending strategic account management with hands-on sales leadership, aimed at driving brand visibility, securing listings, and delivering sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management:
Lead and grow key national accounts across Off-Trade and On-Trade sectors, ensuring deep relationships with buyers, wholesalers, and independent groups.
Sales Execution:
Deliver on agreed sales targets, securing new listings and promotional activations across trade channels.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement tailored business plans and joint business partnerships (JBPs) for key accounts, aligned with overall brand strategy.
Commercial Negotiations:
Lead pricing, promotional agreements, and contract negotiations to maximise profitability.
Market Insight:
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviours to inform strategies and identify new opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, sales team, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution of brand initiatives in trade.
Territory Coverage:
Regular field visits across the UK, ensuring strong visibility of the beer brand in both On and Off-Trade environments.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years’ experience in sales/account management within the Alcohol/Beer industry
Proven success managing both On-Trade and Off-Trade accounts at a national level.
Strong strategic and commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue and profit growth.
Deep understanding of the UK alcohol industry, including routes to market, category management, and trade dynamics.
Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Trusted network of contacts within Beer environment
Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (essential for national travel).
