Copello have partnered with an established Defence Engineering business in the recruitment of a Senior Systems Engineer. This role focuses on the design and delivery of advanced systems in areas such as resilient navigation, RF communications and sensor-based technologies used in challenging operational environments. What you ll be doing: Leading system design across the full lifecycle, from early RandD through to deployment and support Acting as technical authority on selected projects, guiding architecture, trade-offs and engineering decisions Working closely with end users and stakeholders to shape and deliver effective solutions Providing technical assurance, managing risk and ensuring quality, performance and delivery targets are met What we re looking for: A degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline Strong systems engineering background with experience leading technically complex projects Knowledge of sensor and/or communication systems Ability to operate in technically demanding, stakeholder-facing environments Nice to have: Experience with navigation, positioning or timing systems (including resilient or alternative approaches) Exposure to RF, EW, DSP, FPGA, SDR or antenna-based systems Familiarity with structured development processes (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, Spiral) Experience identifying and managing technical risks Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance for this position.
