Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support to children and young people with SEMH needs, including those affected by trauma, anxiety, or behavioural difficulties.
- Encourage emotional regulation, build social skills, and promote healthy coping strategies.
- Use structured routines, visual aids, and therapeutic techniques to create stability and engagement.
- Collaborate with care staff, education professionals, and external agencies to implement tailored care and behaviour plans.
- Foster a safe, calm, and supportive environment that nurtures trust and personal development.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in care, education, or youth support settings with individuals who have SEMH or behavioural needs.
- A caring, adaptable, and inclusive mindset with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and emotional coaching techniques.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training in safeguarding, mental health, and therapeutic approaches.
