SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception Class - Deptford Area - Primary SchoolA welcoming Primary School in Deptford, South East London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a long-term role starting ASAP from 11th November, supporting two children in a Reception class who have additional learning needs.As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils with Autism and developmental delays to engage positively in learning and play. The school is known for its nurturing ethos and offers excellent support for staff working with children with SEN.As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:Providing tailored support to two children in Reception with SEN needs.Assisting with learning, communication, and play-based activities.Supporting emotional regulation and social development.Liaising with parents, the SENCo, and outside professionals where needed.Encouraging independence and confidence in early learning.Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in EYFS or KS1.Understanding of Autism, speech and language delay, or global delay.A calm, patient, and positive approach to supporting young learners.Ability to build trust and strong relationships with pupils and staff.Teaching Assistant - Details:Location: Deptford, SE LondonStart Date: ASAP - 11th November 2025Hours: Full-time
