OverviewThe post holder will be a member of the specialist community Early Intervention in Psychosis leadership team and will hold responsibility for the caseload management of the team alongside delivery of NICE-guided clinical interventions. They will be a Clinical Team Manager and line manage a defined staffing group and hold responsibility for ensuring compliance to statutory training, annual appraisal and staff supervision. They will liaise with other local agencies including Tier IV inpatient and specialist services, as well as the Mental Health Liaison Team and the home treatment team.

Referrals to the team are accepted from a wide range of professionals and agencies and the post holder will be responsible for the flow in and out of the team and allocation of cases to care coordinators and support staff.

Families of the referred young people are included in the assessment and ongoing management of the cases. This will include the use of a range of approaches e.g. psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive and psychopharmacological, as appropriate, within the overall framework of the multidisciplinary team.

To demonstrate clear leadership and support the team members and clinicians in providing clinical management and support to develop the care and treatment of people with mental health problems in the community to receive the best possible care, maximising engagement and improving outcomes.

Undertake professional supervision and caseload management for an agreed number of registered professionals within the integrated hub site.

As the senior clinician in the team, working alongside the Clinical leads, ensuring the skill set and expertise of individual clinicians is appropriate to the needs of the caseload they manage. This will include supervision and appraisals as appropriate, ensuring it is in line with Trust/Directorate standards.

Demonstrate decision-making and problem solving skills as a senior member of the team.

To support the team in developing and building effective communication between community services, wider mental health services and with other agencies and services.

To take appropriate lead action with regard to complaints and reportable incidents within the service as directed by the Trust’s complaints and reportable incident policies.

To contribute to and lead on the implementation of local and national objectives.
