As a Data Quality Lead, you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.This role offers a great opportunity to establish and maintain ongoing capabilities for how USSIM manages the quality of investment data.This senior position plays a critical role in driving data-related strategies that support USSIM’s strategic objectives.The successful candidate will lead data quality initiatives and support the USSIM Head of Data Oversight on all data quality matters across the investment business.Supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive data quality plan aligned with USSIM’s data strategy, goals, and risks.Establishing data quality metrics and monitoring processes to oversee investment data quality, involving Data Oversight and the wider business.Supporting Business Data Owners and Data Stewards in implementing and overseeing data quality measures.Interrogating large datasets, performing detailed analysis to assess quality, identify trends, and target areas for remediation.Prioritising data quality improvements in collaboration with the business, Operational Risk, key projects, and the Data Strategy Programme.Acting as a key advisor within the strategic data programme, supporting the delivery of USSIM’s data strategy, championing data quality tools, and supporting the implementation of new technologies.Drafting the Data Quality Framework, establishing best practices, and managing their rollout with the Head of Data Governance.Communicating issues, risks, achievements, and future plans for data quality enhancement through MI, plans, and regular reports to leadership and stakeholders.Managing and overseeing the control environment with market data vendors.Promoting best practices in data quality within data projects.Collaborating closely with the Head of Data Governance and Data Architect to advance data management practices.Experience in Investment Management with a solid understanding of investment data.Strong attention to detail and data analytical skills, capable of profiling large datasets and deriving insights.Experience managing operational teams focused on controls and data quality processes.Experience with data quality tools and understanding of enterprise data platforms.Knowledge of data architecture, governance, and management best practices.Proficiency with data quality systems, advanced Excel, PowerBI, and similar tools.Experience with large data programmes and projects is desirable.At USS, every individual contributes to building a secure financial future for our members and their families.We are committed to supporting your career development through various opportunities and a supportive management team.Join us to thrive in a friendly, flexible environment with excellent benefits!Generous annual leaveAccess to a high-quality pension schemeSupportive policies including enhanced sick pay and family leaveHealth and wellbeing services such as private healthcare and discounted gym membershipsLearning and development opportunitiesCycle to Work SchemeFounded in 1974, USS is the principal pension scheme for UK universities and higher education institutions, working with around 330 employers to secure the futures of over 528,000 members and their families.
