As Principal Ecologist you will be providing technical leadership within our consultancy, focusing on delivering and overseeing high quality ecological work.You will work closely with our team of ecologists, mentoring and supporting them to develop their skills whilst maintaining strong technical standards. You will also work alongside the Business Manager in supporting the development of the consultancy business, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing procedures to improve efficiency.Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy has been delivering high quality ecological services to clients in Worcestershire and beyond for over 30 years. The work of the ecological consultancy team plays a vital role in delivering our vision of a wilder Worcestershire where there is more nature everywhere for everyone. The postholder will play a key role in delivering the Trust''s three strategic goals, set out in our strategy to 2030, which are:Nature in recovery: 30% of land for nature by 2030.Action for nature: one in four taking action for nature by 2030.Sustaining our future: more diversity, more funding and carbon zero by 2030.About You
A minimum of five years professional experience in ecological consultancy and educated to degree level in an ecological/environmental subjectA passion for wildlife conservation and practical ecological applicationExcellent communication and report writing skillsGood time and project management skillsA wide understanding of ecological issues and a holder of multiple protected species licencesA full UK driving licenceWorcestershire Wildlife Consultancy is part of a network of Wildlife Trust Consultancies. Hybrid working - office at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester, WR3 8SZ with regular travel within Worcestershire and occasionally further afieldSalary Sacrifice Pension Scheme with Royal London.
