Carmichael UK are recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to join a Tier 1 main contractor delivering major works on the HS2 project across multiple sites in the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire regions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer from a civil engineering background to take on a senior role supporting one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.

Working across several key sites, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality management are maintained throughout the project. You will work closely with Site Engineers, Section Engineers, and Agents to oversee quality processes and provide technical guidance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing QA/QC processes across multiple HS2 work packages

• Developing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

• Monitoring compliance with design specifications and project requirements

• Reviewing and collating quality documentation for handover

• Supporting and mentoring junior quality engineers and site teams

• Liaising with client representatives and stakeholders on quality-related matters

• Driving continuous improvement across all quality processes

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A civil engineering background – HND/Degree preferred

• Significant experience working on major civil engineering projects

• Previous exposure to HS2 or other large-scale infrastructure schemes

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes within civil engineering

• Familiarity with structures, highways, and earthworks preferred

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Valid CSCS card and right to work in the UK
