OverviewWe are expanding our psychological provision and seeking a passionate and committed clinical or counselling psychologist to join the Mental Health Integrated Network Team (MINT) in Hounslow. MINT is a multidisciplinary service providing holistic support and treatment to adults with a range of mental health difficulties within a stepped-care framework. Our established psychology team is well integrated and highly valued in the service.

Responsibilities

Provide highly specialist assessments and treatment for individuals with complex mental health conditions who have experienced trauma, both one-to-one and in groups. Post-qualification experience in this area is essential.

Provide psychological consultation and guidance to the full MDT and offer supervision and training for Band 7 psychologists, trainees and assistant psychologists.

Work within an MDT, promoting psychological and trauma-informed ways of working; develop leadership skills; engage in MDT consultation and supervision as required.

Embed trauma-informed principles within the work of the MDT and contribute to service developments in MINT, including audit and research to drive and sustain service quality.

Collaborate with trainee psychologists and a network of psychological colleagues across the Trust; work with people from varied cultural backgrounds, including those seeking asylum, using interpreters when necessary.

Qualifications and experience

Essential: Doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS; registration with the HCPC; training in clinical supervision for doctoral trainees; post-doctoral training in psychological therapy techniques (e.g., EMDR, CBT for psychosis, DBT).

Essential: Experience of working as a qualified (specialist) psychologist in a relevant clinical setting; experience in teaching, training and/or supervision; experience of facilitating psychological therapy groups; experience applying clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.

Essential: Advanced specialist knowledge of psychology applied to clinical practice; knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for the work setting.

Desirable: Additional related academic qualifications; experience in administration, scoring and interpretation of psychometric/neuropsychological tests; published work in peer-reviewed or professional journals/books.

Skills: Ability to communicate highly complex information; ability to plan and manage own caseload and coordinating with others; capability to work in emotionally challenging circumstances; ability to teach and train others using multi-media materials.

Other requirements: Knowledge of the BPS code of conduct; willingness to engage in CPD; ability to uphold clinical governance and maintain high standards of practice.
