As our new Youth Work Lecturer, you will prepare learners for professional practice in youth and community work, delivering high-quality teaching on JNC-recognised programmes that develop not just knowledge and skills, but confidence, values and a genuine vocation for the sector.

Based at our Colindale campus, you will work within the wider Service Industries curriculum area, contributing to course delivery, quality assurance and learner progression. You will support learners with diverse needs and backgrounds, many of whom are on a journey of real personal development, helping them move on into employment, further study or professional registration in youth work.

The Youth Work provision sits at the heart of that mission. You will be joining a collaborative team with strong curriculum leadership, where your professional expertise and industry knowledge are genuinely valued, and where you will have real input into shaping the programmes you deliver.

What You''ll Be Doing

No two days look the same, but here is a flavour of what you will be getting involved in:

  • Inspiring teaching:Deliver high-quality, inclusive sessions on JNC-aligned youth work programmes at Levels 2 to 6, developing learners'' professional knowledge, ethical practice and personal confidence.
  • Learner success:Track progress, provide meaningful feedback and support learners to achieve their qualifications and take their next steps into employment, apprenticeships or higher education.
    Curriculum contribution:Work collaboratively with curriculum leaders to keep programmes current, compliant and engaging, contributing to course development and quality improvement.
  • Assessment and quality:Manage assessment, internal quality assurance and verification processes to awarding body and JNC standards, with accurate tracking of learner evidence.
    Pastoral support:Act as a personal tutor and mentor, supporting learner attendance, wellbeing and retention through timely intervention and collaboration with student support services.
  • External partnerships:Work with youth services, employers, voluntary and statutory agencies to strengthen progression pathways and bring real-world relevance to learning.
  • Enrichment and development:Play an active role in quality assurance, safeguarding, health and safety and enrichment activity across the provision.

  • Employee Support Helpline: The Employee Assistance Helpline can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They provide you and your family with counselling and advice, covering a variety of personal or workplace issues. It is free to use and all calls are confidential.
  • Eye Tests for DSE Users: The College will refund the cost of regular eye tests for staff that use Display Screen Equipment regularly as part of their duties.
  • Flu vouchers: We offer established staff a free flu vaccination voucher to take to a large range of local high street pharmacies.
  • Gym Facilities: Our Sports Centre at Southgate Campus is available for all staff with cardio, strength and conditioning equipment. The 2-floor gym is free for members of staff to use Monday to Friday within term time.
  • Hair Salon Services and Beauty Treatments: A range of competitively-priced hairdressing services are accessible at our Colindale Campus. Regularly providing special staff offers which is convenient during lunch hours or after work.
  • High Street Discounts: Discount for teachers-is a shopping benefits website for staff which gives access to fantastic savings on leading retail brands, plus lots of great special offers! We also have staff discount available with local high street stores within walking distance of our three main campuses.
