Actuarial Analyst - Reserving

Overview
Actuarial Analyst - Reserving role at Lancashire Insurance Group in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior actuarial candidate to learn and be part of an established and training-focused reserving team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Reserving and will assist in all aspects of reserving work, including data procurement, projections and reporting. Study support will be provided to a successful candidate who wishes to pursue actuarial exams. We also welcome applications from candidates who have chosen not to sit the actuarial exams, and from those with no actuarial industry experience or with some experience in either the insurance or pensions industries.Specific Responsibilities
Extraction and reconciliation of data for use in UK GAAP, Lloyd''s, Solvency II/Solvency UK and US Trust Fund reservingUpdating spreadsheets and other processes used by the reserving teamRunning processes to assist in the production of regulatory returnsAssistance in provision of data to external parties such as auditorsAssistance in production of reserving projections and reporting packsOther general assistance in all aspects of the reserving process as requiredEssential Skills and Requirements
Minimum of a second class degree in a mathematical or science-based subject as well as good ‘A’ Levels (or equivalent) including at least one mathematical subjectGood IT skills, in particular MS ExcelExcellent attention to detailGood written and verbal communication skillsDesirable
