Supply Desk is currently looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Bushey. The role is available for a long-term, full-time position, starting either after the half-term break or in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and help them develop a love for history in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Job Description:
- Teach engaging history lessons to secondary school students, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, using innovative teaching methods and resources.
- Support the development of students'' historical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain effective classroom management, promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations with professionalism.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, including history clubs or school events.
- Work closely with other subject teachers and the SENCO to support students with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in lessons and activities.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment, encouraging students to achieve their full potential.
- Actively contribute to departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified History teacher with a passion for the subject and experience teaching secondary school studentsandnbsp;
- Have a strong understanding of the curriculum and how to create engaging and challenging lessons.
- Be able to maintain effective classroom management, fostering a positive and focused environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Be empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting the individual needs of students.
- Be proactive, flexible, and adaptable in response to the changing needs of the students and the school.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Have or be willing to undertake additional training in relevant areas such as safeguarding and first aid.
