Role Overview

We are seeking three Senior Systems Engineers and one Senior Systems Engineer (MBSE Specialist) to join a high-profile programme in the defence/nuclear sector. These roles are critical in delivering a robust and fully integrated suite of verification strategies and model-based systems engineering practices across complex systems.

All candidates must hold or be eligible for Developed Vetting (DV) clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Roles and Responsibilities

Senior Systems Engineers (x3)

• Deliver an updated set of verification strategies across all environment categories and technical disciplines.
• Develop clear claims and arguments to demonstrate compliance with system and regulatory requirements.
• Define integrated trial and modelling roadmaps identifying required evidence at component, subsystem, and full system levels.
• Conduct clause-by-clause analyses of relevant standards to assess and trace evidence needed to demonstrate compliance.
• Identify delivery routes for required evidence, ensuring logic linkage and traceability to standard clauses.
• Engage with stakeholders from across the business to ensure strategies are stakeholder-driven, logic-linked, and captured using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques.
• Integrate verification strategies with established safety case and regulatory compliance approaches.

Senior Systems Engineer - MBSE Specialist (x1)

• Support model-based practices for systems requirements, interfaces, trade studies, interdisciplinary integration, and design analysis.
• Maintain and manage the MBSE model ensuring consistency and accessibility across the user base.
• Optimize MBSE tool usage for reporting and continuous improvement of the model.
• Develop and mature models, and integrate them with other MBSE tools and systems.
• Create visualisations to effectively communicate model data and system architectures to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain performance metrics for reporting, improvement, and governance.

Mandatory Experience (All Roles)

• Minimum 3 years'' experience applying systems engineering within the nuclear and/or defence sector.
• Demonstrated ownership and delivery within complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Proven ability to engage with and elicit information from both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

• HNC/HND or degree qualification in a science or engineering discipline.
• Practical experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
• Proficiency in tools such as Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect and IBM DOORS.
• Experience working in nuclear safety regulated environments.
• Familiarity with nuclear safety principles (e.g., DSA03-DNSR).
• Experience using Teamcenter or similar configuration management tools.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of this role, Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is mandatory. Candidates not currently holding DV clearance must be eligible and willing to undergo the process.
