The postholder will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the pharmacy services for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This includes overseeing the delivery of NHS-commissioned ATMPs such as licensed CAR-T therapies, and ensuring the Trust is equipped to manage both current and future developments in this rapidly evolving field.As a clinical and strategic leader, the role involves working across multidisciplinary teamsincluding pharmacy, clinical trials, research units, and the stem cell laboratoryto ensure safe, effective, and compliant ATMP provision. The postholder will be responsible for developing governance structures, maintaining regulatory compliance, and integrating ATMP services across departments.Main duties of the job

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist to take on a senior leadership role in the delivery of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and Advanced Therapy Investigational Medicinal Products (ATIMPs). This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead pharmacy services supporting cutting-edge therapies such as CAR-T, within both clinical trial and routine care settings.The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials and ATMPs to ensure the Trust is institutionally prepared for ATMP delivery, develop governance frameworks, and maintain compliance with national and international regulations. The role involves strategic planning, service evaluation, policy development, and multidisciplinary collaboration across pharmacy, clinical, research, and laboratory teams.This post requires expert knowledge of ATMPs, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Qualifications
Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalentMember of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)Higher degree or diploma in clinical pharmacyExperience
Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner this must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicine information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing, including clinical trials)Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patientsExpert knowledge and experience of advanced therapiesSubstantial experience in management of teams and influencing stakeholdersPrevious experience and responsibility for managing budgets, monitoring income and business planningAbility to think strategically and plan future service developmentsPrevious experience in planning and delivering training and educationActive experience of using computerised labelling and stock control systemsDemonstrates use of clinical audit to improve practiceHaematology or Oncology experienceSACT screening passport of equivalentSkills/Abilities
