Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as a Principal Mechanical Engineer in either Barrow in Furness or Filton, 2 days a fortnight onsite. This advanced manufacturing business is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer on an initial 6-month contract. The role offers a rate of £67.47 per hour inside IR35 / umbrella and the chance to work on innovative projects within a global organisation.The role involves leading rotor dynamic analysis to inform equipment and system design and specification, producing verification evidence, undertaking model validation, and providing direction to junior engineers. Lead rotor dynamic analysis tasks to inform equipment and system design and specificationProduce verification evidence to underpin system and equipment performanceUndertake model validation including comparison of predicted and test data at system and equipment levelProvide direction to more junior engineers and undertake mentoring and coachingUndertake peers\'' reviews / checking of rotor-dynamics analysis deliverablesOpportunity for further training and developmentQualifications and Experience
Experience in rotor-dynamic analysis and/or machine design and dynamicsExperience with structural and rotor-dynamic analysis software advantageous (e.g., ANSYS, CFX, Maxwell, Shaft Designer, Dyrobes or similar)Masters level qualification including knowledge of Rotor Dynamics, Tribology, Gear Design, Machine Design, Turbo Machinery Design or Electrical Machine DesignChartered engineer or working towards professional accreditationApplicable industry experience: Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Automotive (Engine or Powertrain), Nuclear, Marine, Defence and AerospaceAbout the Opportunity
