Alexander Daniels are working with a leading law firm based in Coventry who are looking to recruit a Legal Accounts Assistant on a part-time, permanent basis (16 hours per week). Reporting into the Accounts Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily bookkeeping and providing a high-quality financial service to the firm and its clients.Responsibilities:Accurate cashbook management and general ledger accuracyCompleting daily bank reconciliations for both client and office accountsDaily preparation of online bank payments, (occasional) cheque raisingDaily allocation and reconciliation of paymentsAssist in quarterly client interest calculation and processingAssist Accounts Supervisor and Practice Director with finance-related queries and resolve client financial queriesInvoicing and credit note issuance ensuring correct VAT TreatmentReview ledgers to ensure any errors are picked up and corrected in a timely mannerReview debtor and creditor ledgers to ensure items are cleared as soon as possibleEnsure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (including AML related processes), reporting any breachesProvide fee earners with ad hoc financial information regarding matters and debtsEssential experience:Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and RegulationsAn understanding of accounting principles and practicesAnti-money laundering awarenessExperience with Legal accounting softwareAbility to work within the requirement of confidentialityHigh standard of accuracy and a
