A long-established and growing accountancy practice based in West Yorkshire is currently seeking a Part-Qualified / Semi Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based role offering excellent career progression and exposure to a varied portfolio of SME clients. Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview Manage a dedicated portfolio of SME clients across various industriesPerform day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial recordsPrepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirementsAssist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accountsSupport senior accountants with year-end accounts and tax return preparationEnsure timely and accurate financial reportingLiaise directly with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetingsBuild and maintain strong client relationships through regular communicationCollaborate closely with senior team members to ensure service qualityApply strong technical knowledge alongside effective interpersonal skills Semi Senior Accountant Job Requirements Minimum of 2 years'' experience within a UK-based accountancy practiceCompetent in preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and maintaining ledgersFamiliarity with software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, and DextStrong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and UK tax/VAT complianceExperience supporting year-end accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companiesComfortable working independent
